Tourism: Irena Ateljevic
Regenerative Change Agents - a podcast about people improving the world.
In the first season we hear from amazing women, regenerative change agents, who are paving the way towards a new way of living in the world by using tourism as a catalyst to spread the regenerative mindset and practices around our globe.
In this episode with Dr Irena Ateljevic we touch upon embodiment, care, responsibility and dive into consciousness, connection and human geography to study the relations between people & places. As well as Irena’s curiosity and critical mindset journey with researching and teaching tourism on different continents. I fully support her view on the future of ‘regenerative tourism’: a tasty and alive tourism with a direct connection to locally regeneratively produced healthy food. And how apt that Irena is sharing all of this with us from her own regenerative farm in Croatia!
Dr Irena Ateljevic is the founder of Terra Meera and of RegenerateEurope.org. She is a scholar focussing on Human Geography and Critical Tourism studies and activist for the transformative power of tourism. From talking the walk in academia she moved back to Croatia to walk the talk and is an inspiration putting regenerative thinking in practice on her farm, her accommodation, organising the annual Regenerate Europe Conference and in all the local food and community projects she undertakes to regenerate the region.
